What do we explore to help prevent bullying?

Recognising bullying

We learn to distinguish bullying from other conflicts and reflect on its consequences.

Understanding different roles

We identify the roles of the person experiencing bullying, the person carrying it out and those witnessing it, and explore how to offer support.

Knowing what to do

We explore the importance of asking for help, telling an adult and acting with respect and assertiveness.

  1. 1

    We split the class

Frequently asked questions

Which grades is Stop Bullying suitable for?

Stop Bullying is designed for primary grades 3–6. Through a cooperative escape room, we explore how to recognise bullying, the roles of those involved and how to respond, with respect and positive relationships at its heart.

How long does the activity last for a whole class?

Each turn lasts 30 minutes for up to nine pupils. We usually split the class into three teams that play in succession, giving 90 minutes of play for the whole class. Follow-up work with the teacher’s guide takes place in lessons organised by the teacher.

What do the other pupils do while one team plays?

The other teams stay in class until their turn. Taking turns allows each group to experience the escape room with no more than nine pupils.

What space and materials does the school need?

We need an open space, such as a classroom with desks moved aside or a gym, to set out the game materials. Playduca brings all activity materials; your school does not need to provide tables or power sockets.

What does the activity’s PDA Bullying certification recognise?

Stop Bullying holds PDA Bullying certification as a resource for preventing bullying among peers. You can read the certification information on the PDA Bullying platform.

What does the teacher’s guide include and when should it be used?

The guide includes follow-up learning units, teaching guidance and access to visual and audiovisual resources linked to the game. It is designed for use after Stop Bullying: the activities build on the challenges experienced and help pupils continue exploring respect, assertiveness and responses to bullying.

How can we request a Stop Bullying proposal?

Click “Request a proposal” and complete the form with your school details, pupils’ grades and group size. Stop Bullying will already be selected. We can then prepare a proposal and plan the turns.

Which activity can help us explore cyberbullying?

To focus on online relationships with primary grade 6, discover The Silence of the Mirror, an escape room about cyberbullying. Stop Bullying focuses on bullying among peers and positive relationships for primary grades 3–6.
